The State of Illinois has a very good idea with the All Kids program. However seeing how it is handled gives justification to those that say that we do not want the goverment in Health Care Insurance.
Sean was covered from 11/06-10/31/07. I had to reapply in September of 2007. I did. It was short one piece of paperwork. They sent a letter on 10/8/07 saying that I would be cancelled if I did not get them that paperwork by 10/15/07. I never got that letter or I did not recognize it. I paid my bill for 11/07 on 10/30. That day I also got a letter saying I was cancelled as of 10/31/07. I called and was told I had to reapply. It would take 11-14 days for that process. I called today and found out that I was approved. Sean's coverage will start again 1/1/07. That is just how the program works. They work about six weeks ahead. So no coverage for him until January. Even though they have my money and I am approved and there are no issues with anything. It just will not start until then and if anything happens I am just out of luck.
A great program. A lousy system to run it. Why does it have to work that way?

I now have to pony up on the cheap about 180 per kid, it's no wonder that I drive a used car and not something fancy. Kids mean more to me.
Sorry dude that you are faced with crap for your state system.

I found All Kids to be very good on the rate and what they pay for. But the system around it just sucks!
