Iron Man
After the event, Sean and I went to see Iron Man is a real theater.

It covered so much of Iron Man. The origin was true to the Stan Lee story from 1963, which was scary since it was set today and yet the entire story still worked by moving Vietman to Afghanistan. Tony Stark was classic. The arrogant playboy that has been the core of his personality since the 80s was handled very well. The side references to all the supporting characters was great. Using the Slade take from the 90s was a suprise choice, but worked very well.

The only thing that I did not like about the movie, I still felt worked well. The killing. But with this Iron Man, it made perfect sense. He was involving himself in war. In war you kill. Iron Man is not Superman or even Batman. So this worked for me.

Good movie. Avengers Initiatve cool. But I am annoyed that I missed the SHIELD reference early. I should have caught that.

You heard about the go-ahead given by Marvel for IM-2, Avengers, Captain America, and Thor? Plus one other, but I can't recall off the top of my head. Young Avengers maybe?

I'll see your geek and raise you a nerd... :)

Editted for new info: Nick Fury and Sub-Mariner are also films on the roster!

And Ed Norton's Hulk this year. And Ant-Man in 2010 or 2011.

I smacked my head and went "D'oh" when I finally caught the SHIELD reference.

We finally saw it last night.

To brag a little, the first time the agent said which agency he was from I thought "What'd he say? Ohhhh..."

that so many admit to missing the S.H.E.I.L.D. reference. That's like not knowing what U.N.I.T. was in the recent Dr. Whos (What ever DID happen to the Brigadeer??). I did love the casting of Sam Jackson...Ever since Feris Buehler I have to wait to the end of the credits on any big movie.
