Democratic Nomination
Hilary Clinton made it official today. She is backing Barack Obbama. She was a few days late, IMO. But she did it. Now it is her job to bring all her followers on board. Now. Not if she is the VP. No conditions, she has to work on this from now until the convention. The focus is beating McCain. That is all. I hope she fully understands this.

Democratic Party
I was orginally a supporter of Hillary Clinton. When it came tim to vote in Illinois, because of the way the primary system works here, I split my vote between delegate for Clinton and Obama. Hillary would make a good president. Barack will make a good and exciting one that can energize the country. I love Hillary. It is not her turn. I think she would make a fine VP, though I doubt she would consider. She sort of was that once. So it is time for her step aside. I have no issue with her waiting until after the last primary on June 3rd. But then she needs to get out of the way and unify to beat McCain.

Barack Obama in 2008.

Super Tuesday Delegates
I finally just watched a report on the delegate count. It shows that Super Duper Tuesday is about an even split. This just goes to show how the system works. And it will indeed be a long race. It shows that the fact every Democratic member of Congress gets a vote could matter. They are not obligated to vote for anyone. I hope this means working together and coming to a consensus to win the White House in November. I hope it means a plan that will take this country forward. The possiblities are there right now. I hope that both Obama and Clinton will take them and share them for the good of all.

One last note. Alaska has 60% of the vote in. 176 for Obama to 66 for Clinton. If that is 60% of the vote only then less than 400 people voted in the entire state. Talk about your vote counting.

Super Tuesday
Well I finally voted. I am proud to say that I waffled. I had forgotten in Illinois you vote for the candidate in a beauty contest and then cast actual votes for delegates. I voted Obama and then split my delegate vote between Obama and Clinton. I would be happy with either one and both have pluses and minuses. And interesting side note in my district only Clinton, Obama, and Richardson had delegates on the ballot and Richardson only had half a slate. That means in my district you could have only really voted for those candiates. Edwards and the rest could not have got any real votes even if they were still running.

I am watching the results all over the nation. Trying to figure out the popluarity contest and then the actual delegates. At this point Super Tuesday may not decide anything for either party, though McCain looks like he could come up with a huge lead due to winner take all states. For the important party, California will be key as Illinois is clearly Obama and New York clearly Clinton.

I personally like the idea of it staying close. Everyone gets a vote that counts, but I do not want to see a divided Democratic convention. So I hope one of them wraps it up late. Plus it is more fun to watch this way :)

Insurance
The State of Illinois has a very good idea with the All Kids program. However seeing how it is handled gives justification to those that say that we do not want the goverment in Health Care Insurance.

Sean was covered from 11/06-10/31/07. I had to reapply in September of 2007. I did. It was short one piece of paperwork. They sent a letter on 10/8/07 saying that I would be cancelled if I did not get them that paperwork by 10/15/07. I never got that letter or I did not recognize it. I paid my bill for 11/07 on 10/30. That day I also got a letter saying I was cancelled as of 10/31/07. I called and was told I had to reapply. It would take 11-14 days for that process. I called today and found out that I was approved. Sean's coverage will start again 1/1/07. That is just how the program works. They work about six weeks ahead. So no coverage for him until January. Even though they have my money and I am approved and there are no issues with anything. It just will not start until then and if anything happens I am just out of luck.

A great program. A lousy system to run it. Why does it have to work that way?

A bit liberal
The following quiz was written by Victor Kamber and Bradley S. O'Leary and appeared in the October 28-30, 1994 issue of USA Weekend. Before you vote in the next election, take this quick, quiz to see where - and with whom - you really stand.

My score is 3.

I had to do this code myself. It just gives you the score, but I wanted the pictures on my blog. I scored a 6 the first time I took it but then went back and changed the two that did not have the answer I really wanted and thought about the date it was written in for the other. Third world nations change a lot in 13 years.
