I love working outside in the heat. It was 91° as I mowed the yard tonight. It took just over an hour. I put on my shorts and shoes and just let the sun and the heat cover my body as I mowed. I worked up a good sweat and felt great when I was done. Now I will take a shower and tackle the inside of the house. Though it is so nice out, I might find more to do out there first.

I fought the lawn and I won. A bit over two hours of lawnmowing and the jungle is tamed. It was over six inches higher in spots where I had mowed vs where I was mowing. Plies of mulch have been created. It is a nice day out for it. Not quite nice enough to take the shirt off, which is the ideal way to mow the lawn, but still nice enough for a T-shirt only.

Where was this weather yesterday?

It was in the mid 40s in central Illinois on the first weekend in January. So I decided to get the outdoor Christmas decorations down this year. All done. Then I decided to clean up the garage so that I would be able to find everything to pack for Gulf Wars this year. Got that done fairly well. Then I noticed that I had forgot to put away the patio furniture and took care of that. And then I took care of all the toys of Sean's that had been left out when we got the foot of snow. So the yard is now mostly cleaned, the garage is mostly clean and I did not have to freeze.

Now for some laundry.
